Full report of the group of experts

Summary:
Institutum Studiorum Humanititatis – Ljubljana Graduate School Humanities (ISH) is one of the first HE institutions in Slovenia that started successfully to combine interdisciplinary research in humanities with appropriate postgraduate education. In doing so, ISH has since its beginning been connecting with important research and pedagogical institutions in the field of humanities both in Slovenia and abroad. Despite its relatively short period of existence, ISH is an established HE institution on national and international level. It bases the majority of its teaching contents on achieved and actual scientific research work of higher education teachers. The realization of set objectives could in the long-term be affected only by a drop in financed research projects.

The counselling service for students operates efficiently and successfully. However, ISH should consider formalizing student support, in order to help students and graduates in their orientation and effective response to the needs of the market. Apart from setting-up a career centre and alumni club, the group of experts sees opportunities mostly the development of internal quality assurance system which would enable ISH to check the satisfaction of employees, student workload as well as regular and consistent self-evaluation procedures. Regardless of the stated weaknesses, ISH has a great advantage due to a small number of students, making it possible to individually solve possible problems and provide quality.
