Summary:
University of Maribor is the second public (state) university in Slovenia . It was publicly proclaimed on 19 September 1975 as the logical transformation of the then Association of higher education institutions in Maribor , which brought together six higher education institutions .
The establishment of the University of Maribor and the expansion of research activities have accelerated the development of new faculties , thus the university today has 17 members. 22 000 students are studying at the university with altogether 1800 employees.
University of Maribor is a dynamic and modern university which provides a comprehensive educational and research institutions and is constantly striving for excellence in all areas of its operations . By fostering humanistic values , a culture of dialogue and raising the level of awareness, the university contributes to the sustainable social development of the local and wider environment .
The strengths and suggestions for enhancement are given throughout the available full report as were observed by the group of experts accordingly to for improvement at UM as perceived by the group of experts and in accordance with the areas of assessment.
